The Benefits of Good Feedback on Your Amazon Sales Page

If you can get good feedback left on your Amazon page, this will help you to promote your work to new people. The opinions of others can be a deciding factor in whether we make a purchase or not. Here are 3 simple ways you can try and get positive feedback for your books.

#1 – Offer Your Book for Free

If you offer your book for free, you will be creating an opportunity for people to leave feedback. Some people will naturally leave a comment on your sales page but others may need to be prompted.

One of the benefits of promoting through Amazon is that they send out emails asking people to share their opinions on the latest purchases and downloads.

Offer your book for free and you are opening it up to a wider audience.

#2 – Ask People in Your Community

If you have a blog, you can write a post and ask people to share their thoughts on your book at the end of the post or, much better, over on the Amazon sales page. Include a link to the page to make it easier for people to head over and leave their thoughts.

If you have a mailing list, you can ask your subscribers if they wouldn’t mind sharing some feedback on Amazon.

You can also do the same thing on your social networking sites. Don’t be over the top and insistent on this otherwise you will come over as very annoying and people will unfriend you, unfollow you and just ignore you.

#3 – Let it Happen Organically

You can just sit back, relax and let things take its natural course. If people happen to land on your Amazon sales page and leave a comment, fabulous.

It is a lovely surprise to visit your page and find that someone that you have no links to has left a glowing report about your efforts. On the flip-side, it is not so nice to see negative comments but, hey, you gotta take the bad with the good. Just concentrate on the good stuff.  🙂

Where to Promote Your Book to Help Future Sales

Here are the 3 places that you can start using to help promote your book. Two are good places when your book is being offered for free. The third option is great for all round promotion and product visibility.

#1 – Use Snicks List

Snicks List is a website that promotes free and paid books. It is very easy to use. You sign up for an account, add your book details and the book cover. Then add how many days your book will run for free and hit publish.

You will receive a confirmation when the book is live on their site. This is when you can go and get the link and share it with your social networking platforms.

#2 Use Goodreads

I didn’t realise this but Goodreads is owned by Amazon. It is a user generated site where you can upload your book and this will provide you with another link to your product. Readers can log in and add their feedback comments here.

I have one book on there that shows up in Google’s search engine so this is one good reason to add your details here. You can copy and paste the stuff that you have written on your Amazon sales page.

#3 – Use Facebook Groups

There are lots of Facebook groups that will allow you to add a link to your book. Some ask for direct links to Amazon during the free book promotion days. Others ask you to link to a blog post about your book. I am not sure how effective this is but it doesn’t take too long to share your book info so it can’t hurt can it.

3 Ways To Use Social Media to Promote Your Book

Social media is a great way to provide your community with information about your new book. You do not have to overcomplicate the process to get your message across. Here are three simple things that you can do to help with sales.

#1 – Share Your Blog Posts on Social Media

You should now have at least one post where you have written about your book, which also contains a link to your Amazon sales page.

Use your social media accounts to share this information with your community. You can add a link from your post to Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn and Twitter. If you have an image in your post, be sure to add this to Pinterest too.

#2 – Add a Link from Your Amazon Sales Page

Go to your Amazon sales page, copy the link and share this on your social networking platforms. Sometimes people will make a spur of the moment decision to download your book, especially if it is during the free promotion week.

Share your information at least once a day, maybe a few times more on Twitter, to accommodate the different times that people are looking in.

#3 – Use Hootsuite to Automate

A great way to ensure that you are sharing links to your book promotion is by sharing these links several times a day over the whole promotional period. A very easy way to do this is to use an automated system. You can schedule lots of different notices that can be sent via the different social networking platforms.

One example is Hootsuite. You can sign up for a free account. Add the platforms that you use and add your links using the scheduling calendar.

Top Tip – A good idea is to add your own links and sprinkle links from blog posts that you have read and would like to share. That way you are not bombarding your networks with content that is all about you. You can also ensure that you are sharing links from other bloggers that you like.

Where I Am At with My Book Promotion

I have used Hootsuite to schedule out my blog post and Amazon sales page links. I have used the URL shortener and also added a couple of hashtags – like #free #ebook and #freebook #halloween.
