Raychelle – A Flash Fiction Story

Raychelle was nervous about using her new walking stick. At 11, she’d only seen elderly people with them. But her hip hadn’t healed properly, so she needed support.

She’d watched a YouTuber with the same condition—older than her but also using a stick. Hers was beautiful, unlike the plain NHS ones. It was bright orange with green leaves.

Raychelle looked at her own, bought from the same website. Pink with silver unicorns, it was perfect. She loved it.

Stepping outside for her first trip, excitement replaced nerves. This wasn’t just support—her stick gave her a new lease on life.

It was beautiful.
