Nuri – A Flash Fiction Story

Nuri looked at her ‘To Do’ list. She had quite a few things to do before she could leave. Working for the Richardsons wasn’t so bad. The children were sweet, and they really respected her. That was nice.

The whole family was nice and welcoming. On her first day, they had presented her with a cake with the words “Welcome to London” written in icing sugar.

She was one of the lucky ones. Her room was spacious and private. Her duties were varied but manageable. She had been there for just over three months, and her English had improved immensely.

Nuri smiled. She was happy here. She wanted to stay. She would do anything to make that happen.

Anything.
