Golda was so surprised, she couldn’t stop the tears from escaping. But these were tears of joy. She stood on her doorstep and looked out in utter delight.
Her daughter was standing there, holding the biggest bouquet of flowers she had ever seen. It was Golda’s birthday.
It had been a tough year. She had been in isolation for so long and hadn’t expected any visitors. So to see her daughter standing there was a delight.
“Happy birthday, Mum,” her daughter said.
“I wish I could hug you tight.”
Golda nodded. These were not normal times. But she was grateful to be able to celebrate another year of life.
