Thomas had never seen a dead body before. He had watched plenty of TV shows where characters were killed or people died in hospital dramas, but that was as close as he got.
But that all changed today. He was attending the funeral of his grandmother. She had been 92 when she passed.
Thomas smiled. She had definitely lived a full life. As he stepped closer to the coffin, he could feel his heart racing. He wasn’t sure what to expect.
Suddenly he felt a hand touch his shoulder. It was his sister, there to provide him with support.
Thomas took a breath, stepped forward, and looked down.
