Yves had always felt like he led a double life. He was one person when he was at home with his family. But as soon as he was back in London, he was someone completely different.
He felt like he could be his true self. He knew that his parents loved him. His father loved taking him to the pub and sharing a laugh over a pint.
His mother was proud of the boy who had become a solicitor. She told everyone she met in the street.
But they didn’t know the real Yves. He felt he couldn’t share that part of his life with them.
Not yet. Maybe not ever.
