Step Away from The Chocolate by Marcia Brandt

Step Away from The Chocolate is a short story in a series called The Ladies on Honeysuckle Road. We are introduced to Marla who is a wife and mother. To say that she likes chocolate would be an understatement. She absolutely loves the stuff is sometimes unaware that she has allowed herself to consume a whole box of the sweet confectionary delight while reading, watching TV or cooking the family dinner.

In the first instalment, Marla is plagued by a strange voice which tells her to “Step away from The Chocolate”. Where is the voice coming from? What does it mean? Will one more chocolate really do her that much harm?

This is a fun little story that any chocoholic is sure to enjoy. I particularly like the description of the different type of chocolates that Marla likes to buy from the shop that she passes on her way home from work.

We also discover the source of the strange voice that keeps repeating the words “Step away from the chocolate” and how Marla reacts to the news.

If you are looking for something to read on your commute to work or during your tea break, then this would be a wonderful choice.

The other books in The Ladies on Honeysuckle Road Series are:

The Song of Chocolate Dreams Come True
The Chocolate Kiss
The Love of Chocolate
