Uri – A Flash Fiction Story

Uri looked at the photographs on his Instagram feed. He didn’t understand why people enjoyed taking so many photos of themselves.

It was one thing to smile and pout in front of the camera, but to share those images with strangers? What did that do for people?

Was the ego so fragile that you needed the validation of strangers to feel good about yourself?

Uri looked at himself in the mirror. He wasn’t bad-looking. He needed a shave and could do with losing a few pounds. Maybe he was actually jealous of those guys on social media.

Was that it?
