Valerie – A Flash Fiction Story

Valerie couldn’t believe her eyes. The building looked fantastic. She had been searching for the right place to call home, and she believed she had found it.

The white fence looked just like the ones she had seen in the countless romantic movies she had watched. The front garden was neat and tidy with roses growing on either side of the little path that led straight to the front door.

The door was perfect too. It was painted in black with a high gloss finish. The brass door knocker and letterbox were polished and sparkled. Valerie felt like she had arrived home.

“This is the one,” she whispered.

“This is the one.”
