Viola was bored. She had plenty to do to keep her occupied, but she had no motivation. Instead of tidying, reading, or working on her project, she sat at her desk, staring out the window.
A fox lounged in the sun at the bottom of the garden. She had seen it many times before. It looked utterly carefree.
Viola wished she felt the same, but responsibilities weighed heavily on her. Expectations pressed down, demanding her attention. She knew she had to meet them, to get on with things. But right now, she just didn’t want to.
Not right now.
